Q: Joel, could you introduce yourself?
Hello! My name is Joel, and I am the Head Teacher at Hop On Language School on the Gold Coast. I have been teaching English for many years and have worked with students from all over the world. I am passionate about helping students improve their English communication skills and achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals.
Q: What makes Hop On Language School different from other English schools on the Gold Coast?
One of the biggest differences is our small class sizes.
In large classrooms, students often don't have enough opportunities to speak. At Hop On, every student participates actively in class and receives individual feedback.
We focus on practical English that students can use immediately in everyday life, at work, and in social situations. We also provide IELTS preparation for students who need English test results for study, migration, or professional purposes.
Q: Many students are looking for English conversation classes. What can they expect?
Our English Conversation Classes are designed to build confidence. Many students understand English grammar but feel nervous speaking. We create a relaxed and supportive environment where students can practice speaking naturally.
Students discuss real-life topics, participate in role-plays, and learn useful expressions that can be used outside the classroom. Our goal is to help students communicate confidently in English.
Q: What advice would you give to students preparing for IELTS?
The biggest mistake students make is focusing only on practice tests. IELTS success comes from improving your overall English ability.
At Hop On Language School, we help students develop the skills required for all four sections of the exam: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. We also provide individual feedback so students understand exactly how they can improve their scores.
Q: Who are your typical students?
We welcome students from many different countries. Our students include working holiday makers, international students, parents on guardian visas, migrants, and professionals who want to improve their English.
Because we offer flexible study options, including classes two or three days per week, students can balance their studies with work and family commitments.
Q: Many students work while studying. How do you support them?
